SCHOLARSHIPS

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed for leaders with work experience in peace and development. The Rotary Peace Fellowship Program began in 2002 and has trained more than 1,500 fellows who now work in more than 115 countries. Many serve as leaders in governments, NGOs, educational and research institutions, peacekeeping and law enforcement agencies, and international organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank.
Our colleagues are committed to community and international service and the pursuit of peace. Each year, The Rotary Foundation awards up to 50 master’s degree scholarships and 80 certificate scholarships at top-tier universities.
Interested candidates from around the world are hereby invited to apply for the Rotary Peace Fellowship Program 2023-24, either in master’s programs or professional development certificate programs.

Eligibility Requirements

For master’s candidates you must:

  • Be proficient in English
  • Have a bachelor’s degree
  • Have a strong commitment to intercultural understanding and peace, as demonstrated through professional and academic achievement and personal or community service.
  • Leadership potential
  • Have at least three years of relevant full-time experience in peace or development work.

For the Professional Development Certificate, candidates must also:

  • Be proficient in English
  • Have a bachelor’s degree
  • Have at least five years of relevant full-time experience in peace or development work.
  • Have a strong commitment to intercultural understanding and peace, as demonstrated through professional and academic achievement and personal or community service.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Be able to explain how your plan to promote peace aligns with Rotary’s mission.
    Makerere University Candidates: Be from Africa, have worked in Africa, or work with African communities or initiatives outside Africa.

HOW TO APPLY

  • Review eligibility restrictions.
  • Research the curriculum and programs at each of the Rotary Peace Centers. You will be asked to rank two centers of your choice for the master’s program and up to two centers for the certificate program if you meet the eligibility criteria for both programs.
  • Collaborate with Rotary. Use the Club Finder to locate the Rotary club closest to you. Connecting with a club is a great way to learn about Rotary’s work in your community and around the world. A club recommendation is optional but highly recommended as part of your application.
  • Submit your application before May 15. Applications require a resume, academic and/or professional recommendations, essays, transcripts, social impact plan (certificate only), and test scores (master’s only). All materials must be in English.
  • Get support. In early June, if your application meets the qualification and eligibility criteria.
